Art

In Art lessons, we have been studying installation art. We have observed different pieces of installation art and thought about the medium used, how the artwork is displayed and the possible meaning behind the art, we have also thought about the similarities and differences between the pieces. We then used some everyday materials and items to create a piece of installation artwork as a group.

We then created our very own piece of installation art in school as a class and then designed and created our own installation art.  Some children even used our previously taught skills of sewing and incorporated this into their art.

PE

We have absolutely loved our PE lessons this half term - we have been learning the skills involved in Rugby with a Rugby coach. We have learnt the rules, learnt how to pass and catch correctly and how to score tries.

RE

In RE, we have been learning about important women in the Old Testament. We have learnt about Jochebed, Ruth and Deborah and why they were so respected and decided whether we felt that they had made the right choice or not. We then learnt about Esther and the Jewish Festival of Purim. We learnt that during the festival, Jewish people eat Hamantaschen (triangular shaped cookies filled with chocolate, poppy seeds or jam). We decided that we would bake some of our own! We worked as a team, to read the instructions, measure the ingredients and bake our cookies - they were delicious!
