We were very lucky to have a visit from Mrs Blackledge to our school. She works with the Lancashire Music Service and came to deliver a Samba Assembly! Before she arrived, most of the staff were getting excited and practising some dance moves!
Mrs Blackledge knew lots of fun games to play to help us to understand tricky Musical vocabulary and by the end of the assembly, we had all had the opportunity to contribute to our very own Samba song! The assembly was noisy but so much fun!
Before she left, Mrs Blackledge gave us some postcards advertising her Music class on Tuesday nights at Shuttleworth College. Within the class, each child has the opportunity to learn their very own musical instrument!
Playing a musical instrument helps children to develop in so many different ways. It can help with improving a child’s motor skills, confidence as well as perseverance.
If you would like more information about music lessons, please ring school and ask for Mrs Thornton and she will signpost your to some resources. If you didn’t get a postcard from Lancashire Music service and you would like one, please ask at the office.
