At St James’ Lanehead Primary School we take online safety very seriously.
To ensure that our pupils are staying safe online, we teach Online Safety as part of the ICT topic within our curriculum.
Please see below for some of the activities we have done with our pupils.
Key Stage 2
If you would like more information about Online Safety from a Parent/Carer’s perspective, please take a look at our Online Safety page in the Parents section or speak to a member of staff, thank you.
Safer Internet Day
Today we have spent the full day learning about Internet Safety. The topic was – ‘Together for a better internet’.
We started the day with finding out what internet actually means. We then made some internet connections and pretended that we were sending messages across the world to each other.
Take a look at Rowan Class utilising the new Now Press Play resources to enhance their learning experience.
In a now>press>play Experience, the children put on wireless headphones and are plunged into the world of their topic. Immersed in sound, they become the main character in a story, meeting people, discovering places and solving problems, on an educational adventure they’ll never forget!
After lots of discussion, and fun activities, across the school we know now the importance of asking our parents’ permission to access the internet and to never give personal information out to people we do not know.
